AIDS Math Turns 4 into 170

"Oklahoman May Have Infected Nearly 170 Women with
HIV."
That was the headline of one media outlet and was virtually
identical to that of countless others. You had to read way down
in the story to find out that the total number of those women who
have tested positive for the AIDS virus is . . . four. Moreover,
all we know of the four is that they are infected and claimed they
had sex with this guy. All four could have been infected through
needles. Don't expect to read about that in the follow-ups. The
story will just fade away – while the fear will stay behind…
